Three things at once: a new name with a small but meaningful tweak, automatic dark mode support, and a feature for users coming over from The Marvellous Suspender or The Great Suspender (notrack), TGD can now migrate their suspended tabs directly.

A quick follow-up to the Manifest V3 launch: a bug fix and a couple of Profiler page improvements.

After nearly four years, TGD is back, and fully up to date. Version 1.0.0 brings the long-awaited migration to Manifest V3, ensuring the extension keeps working as Google phases out Manifest V2 support on the Chrome Web Store.

The time for goodbyes has come. Due to my inability to carry the project forward, and the inevitable future mandatory use of Manifest V3, The Marvellous Suspender is about to sunset.

2021 was a great year for The Marvellous Suspender. Lots of contributions, ideas, bugfixes and even a not-so-healthy dose of Google updates that have put the add-on and all its users in a difficult spot. Today's article, however, is perhaps conclusive unless we find new blood in development and a new starting point to rethink the add-on and bring it into the future, the one necessarily dictated by Google and its Manifest V3.

A round of quality-of-life improvements and cleanup: a new bulk-discard command, cleaner options layout, and a leaner codebase.

Version 7.1.6.2 brings back multilingual support and addresses a series of issues raised by the community since the initial launch.

The Great-er Tab Discarder (TGD) starts here: a clean fork of the original The Great Discarder, stripped of tracking and built for people who just want their RAM back.

I didn’t think I would ever write such an article, yet here we are. I want to tell you very quickly who I am, what I do and what is happening to The Marvellous Suspender, an extension for Google Chrome that has suddenly come under the spotlight since Google decided to block and "withdraw from the market" the original The Great Suspender. This article is published in Italian and also localized in English to allow all new friends who have landed here to better understand the evolution of history.

The Marvellous Suspender is back. Version 7.1.6.1 is the first public release under the new name, picking up where The Great Suspender left off after its removal from the Chrome Web Store.

This initial release is a foundation build: the core suspension logic is intact, the extension icon and branding have been updated, and English is the only locale included. Localizations from the original project will be restored and revised in the next release.

If you were a Great Suspender user, you can install TMS and import your previous settings and session data from the History page.
